Christ Community Church has had the privilege and honor of "doing life together" with hundreds of military families over the years. We are constantly praying for our military and hope that we can help connect you with our faith family to make your stay in Montgomery one that is spiritually uplifting.
Our Military Outreach Ministry Team Leader is Doug Gimlich. Doug has been a member of Christ Community Church since 2013 and along with his wife Tiffany, help serve in a number of areas of our church including the nursery and worship ministries. As a 19-year member of the US Air Force, Doug knows just how hard it can be to find a new church family every 3 or 4 years. In fact, he has done it 4 times in the last 8 years! And that doesn't include the Base Chapel while he was deployed.
A MESSAGE FROM DOUG
In my opinion, there are three things that military families seek when looking for a church at their new duty station: a sincere welcome, a compelling/convicting presentation of God's word and a contingent of active and retired fellow military. As a member of Christ Community Church, I can assure you that you will find all of that and more here.
When my family and I arrived in Montgomery, the first church that we tried was Christ Community. The greeting we received both before the service, after the service and phone calls later in the week were evidence of a loving church family who genuinely wanted to get to know us better. As we all know, you do not get a second chance to make a first impression. And in my case, Christ Community Church didn't need one. My family and I decided shortly thereafter to make this church our home.
Another aspect of this church that was especially welcoming to us was the robust mix of students from Maxwell, permanent party (like myself), retirees and a civilian body who sincerely loves and appreciates the sacrifices we make in uniform. As a member of our church, you will be immediately given opportunities to grow and serve, even if you are only here for a year. We are fully aware that many of you will be here for a short time; but we are well prepared to take care of your spiritual and fellowship needs during that time. In fact, we even have OTS students that drive out to worship with us...and they are here for less than 3 months!
Finally, we are conveniently located 5 minutes from such popular neighborhoods as Deer Creek where many military students, permanent party and their families live.
So please take a moment to check out the rest of our website. Inside of our site you will find what we believe, examples of what we study on Sunday, how we worship, ministries and outreach activities and videos of our Worship Team (the best I've ever seen)!
If you have any questions or would like more details, I am happy to respond to your emails at doug.gimlich@gmail.com. Again, thanks for visiting our website, and may God bless your upcoming PCS and eventual move to Montgomery.
In His service,
Doug Gimlich
