Women's Retreat Recap

How many of you expected to have such an awesome time on this years' retreat? Whatever you might have been "retreating" from, whether it was work, laundry, cooking, cleaning, child rearing, the busyness of day to day life (or for some, all of the above), the mission of the retreat for many was fulfilled. I know one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much was because it was my first 24 hrs. away from being the mother of two young children, but after hearing everyone else share about it (at the retreat and bible study), I knew it meant a great deal to everyone else as well, and for different reasons. Many spoke of the love and unity felt among fellow "testy" sisters in Christ and went on about the accommodations, flowers and goodies throughout. Many of you enjoyed the savory chicken, rice pilaf, vegetables and soft roll (was it because we didn't have to lug the groceries, cook it and clean it?). Still others enjoyed the incredible music, snow capped trees, and Beth Moore's lessons. I think it was everything combined, which resulted from a whole lot of planning, sacrificing, praying and presence of the Lord. Amen?
Beth Moore's message no doubt softened our heart and souls, but how many of you also enjoyed laughing and watching certain women get up (in their pajamas mind you) and cut up as they did? I'm waiting for an encore of the Aretha Franklin's, 50's, 60's and 70's renditions, personally. Speaking of Captain and Tennille, how many of you were also honored that your very own ministers' wife (and daughter for that matter), were present and playing such a pivotal role during the retreat? Donna is not only our leaders' helpmate and awesome mother, but she also manages to "love well", if you know what I mean.
We simply had a great fellowship of women with the Lord. We were blessed, refreshed, and undoubtedly loved. How can we not come away with a greater respect for our creator, and willingness to love more, more affluently, and vulnerably? Men of CCC, you have a great challenge ahead on your upcoming retreat!
