Our History
| Christ Community is a work of faith! It began when the Lord gave Reverend Keith Waldrop a vision for planting a contemporary church in east Montgomery that would become a relevant, Christ exalting, Praise & Worship Style, Biblical community of believers. | ![]() |
Keith and his wife Donna stepped out of a thriving student ministry and in faith, birthed Christ
Community in August of 1996. In September of 1996, they held their first public worship service at the AUM Campus' School Of Nursing.
Property was purchased on Ryan Road in 1998. The campus opened in April 1999 and later on that year 8 additional acres were purchased. The building sits on almost 14 acres that is strategically located in the east corridor of growth in our city.
The Lord blessed immediately, with many responding to this style of worship and in doing so, gave their hearts to Christ. Some who were far from God, came near. Others that were challenged in their faith, have grown.
Christ Community exists to be a place of refreshment, refuge, prayer, healing, dynamic preaching and a celebration of praise! We are an inter-denominational church that crosses the lines of racial and denominational barriers and lifts high the name of Christ as being the hope of the world.
Our Faith Family is passionate about winning the lost, helping people mature in their faith, establishing strong marriages and calling ones to reconciliation.
One of the primary foundations of Christ Community is that it would have a ministry to the nations. This fellowship has given 10% of its general funds to missions from the very first dollar received. We have partnered with Mexico, Guatemala, India, China, Honduras, Japan, Israel, Africa, Brazil and all across America.
Christ Community has three dominant values that it embraces. They are - CONNECTION with God, through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to be a COMMUNITY of Christ followers that are building an authentic, biblical community, and to create CHANGE in individual lives, our community and the world.
The 3C Purpose Strategy
Connection -
Our greatest desire is to see people connect with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Connection means we worship individually or corporately but that we connect with Christ and build relationships with one another.
Community -
Where we, "Do Life Together," take steps to make new friends and have a place to develop core convictions of love, acceptance, prayer and growth in Christ. We cannot live in isolation but community, it's our "middle name."
Change -
Our goal is to see God change lives individually, as families, as a faith-family, in our community at large and ultimately the world through caring and living out the gospel to fulfill the Great Commission!
